So it looks like the short story collection will be done before The Darkest Night. Which means I need to start working on a cover and back of book stuff. But to get a cover, I need a definite title. And that is where I am stuck!
The book is a collection of fantasy stories but they are all very different to each other. There’s no linking theme or characters.
if it helps, here are the names of the 8 stories for it so far (8 is still under construction but is over 7,000 words):
I’d Give Anything To End This
An Icy End
The White Queen
The Death of Magic
A Dance to Remember
My Love Unto Death
The Seer of the Forsaken
Fur & Fangs
Honestly? the majority don’t have happy endings which is surprising given so far my books do. Maybe it’s easier to have a sadder ending in a short work?
The working title was originally Magical Tails but that no longer fits since the 2 stories that was based off ended up scrapped. All of them do have some form of magic in them. My Love involves greek mythology, Fur has vampires and werewolves, there’s a Dragon in The Death of Magic, the afterlife and ghosts in I’d give, The Seer has a seer.
Please help?
This is a tough one: Based on the titles, which collectively appear to have elements of horror and anguish. "Shadows of Despair."
Not So Happily Ever After.
Shadows of the Heart.
Spells & Mischief.
It's hard without key themes. Do each revolve around a love story i.e. are they romance? Is it YA/NA/Adult as a collection?
Maybe write each story's theme and work out the key things readers will be drawn in by? Why do they want to read this collection? xx
